The Principal Statistical Programmer is part of the Global Biometrics Department within Clinical

Development and will work independently on preparing, conducting and completing programming

tasks (mainly in SAS ®) in assigned Study Teams according to company policies, SOP’s and

regulatory requirements. This is a home-based position.

Key responsibilities:

General mentoring to Statistical Programmers and Senior Statistical Programmers

May act as a Project Lead for Biometric-only projects

Plan client deliverables and manage project budgets (incl. PFU/revenue files)

Responsible for programming activities within assigned studies or act as a programming lead

for a study / program

Programming to produce:

-Edit checks

-Listings

-Summary tables

-Graphics

-Statistical tests (if background in Statistics)

Give input to the data validation plan

Support e.g. the biostatistician, the clinical data manager and the safety manager with tables,

listings, data transfer and statistical tests

Carry out programming, validation and documentation as required

Development of general macros and applications to support other biostatistics programmers

or end users

May act as project manager driving internal efficiency projects within programming including

project planning, delegating to team members and meeting timelines

Program/validate SDTM datasets incl. define.XML and SDTM reviewer’s guide

Write working instructions, system and user manuals

Actively contribute to the organization and development of routines, processes and SOPs to

enhance the work at TFS

Support in implementation/validation/improvement of new or existing software

Coach, support and mentor of (new) employees

Provide input into proposals which include programming and attend Bid Defense meetings

face-to-face or via webex as needed

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in computer science, statistics or equivalent

Minimum 8 years relevant programming experience (preferably in SAS) in clinical data

Good verbal and communication skills

Ability to deal effectively with sponsors and internal project team

Ability and willingness to travel on occasion
